Our base is in the picturesque village of Tomintoul situated in the North Eastern Cairngorms within the Cairngorm National Park and Glenlivet Crown Estate. Tomintoul is also the highest village in the Highlands at 354m (1,160 feet).

We think it is an ideal place to base yourself for walking and trekking, as well as discovering the other delights the area has to offer, including distilleries, mountain and road biking, castles and fishing.

However, if you prefer, we can start a trek from anywhere in the Cairngorms. Just let us know where you would like to begin and end your adventure.

Getting to Tomintoul: The best ways to reach Tomintoul is by car, walking or cycling. The nearest train station is Aviemore (25 miles away), and bus services run from Inverness, Elgin and Aviemore to Grantown on Spey (13 miles away), and we can arrange a pick up for you and your bags at no extra charge. Inverness and Aberdeen airports also run domestic and international flights.
