Two day overnight Munro trek summiting the remote Ben Avon and Beinn a’ Bhuird with great wildlife spotting opportunities…
Starting out from the impressive Corgarff Castle at Cock Bridge this two day trek will take you gently to the Linn of Avon. We will then steadily ascend onto the Ben Avon plateau via the West and East Meur Gorm Craigs and set up an overnight camp close to the main summit granite tors of our first Munro, Leabaidh an Daimh Bhuide…arguably the Cairngorms most impressive mountain peak and one of its most isolated. The following day we will continue our way across the Sneck above the Garbh Choire and Mitre Ridge, famed for its remote rock climbing and golden eagles, and on to the main summit, and our second Munro, of Beinn a’ Bhuird at 1197 metres, [our highest point over the two days], before descending into Glen Quoich. Finally, we will walk out to the Punch Bowl ready for our pick up at the Linn of Quoich.
This Trek is specifically designed for walkers with good stamina but who prefer a steady pace, especially on the ascents and descents.
- Please note that the return walk may vary in relation to the weather conditions and state of stream crossings.
