Starting at the pretty village of Braemar this lightweight four day trek includes 3 overnight wild camps on the Balmoral estate. Weather allowing, we will be looking to summit 9 Munros as we head east from Royal Deeside towards the Lochnager massif and the high mountains of the White Mounth. Although this will not be a fast paced walk, and there will be time for relaxation and contemplation, days will be long and a good level of fitness will be required. Possible Munro summits to be attempted are Lochnagar (Cac Carn Beag), Carn a’ Choirie Bhoidheach, Carn an t-Sagairt, Cairn Bannoch, Broad Cairn, Tolmount, Tom Bhuidhe, Mayar and Dreish. The route will be flexible and adapted on a continuous basis to the conditions and how the group is performing. Other areas to be possibly visited are Glen Gelder, Jocks Road, and Glen Doll. We will also pass by the Royal Bothy at Gelder Shiel.
